Resources and My Personal Favorites
Here are the resources, tools, and my personal favorite brands that I use in my everyday life. Full disclosure, I earn referral revenue for some of these, but I will never recommend something I don't use or like.
I was aware of Skillshare before I began making online classes, but if you haven't heard of it let me introduce you. Skillshare is an online learning platform with a huge library of classes created by people from all over. You can learn hard skills, soft skills, business, art, marketing, you name it, it's probably on there. (Aside from a few topics like math, health, etc. Things that could negatively impact someone if they're taught incorrectly.) *Referral link
Canva has been my go-to design tool for years. It's easy to use and they have a huge library of images, graphics, and videos to use, or you can import your own. I pay for the Pro version and it's been incredibly worth it for me. I've designed social media posts, used it for website design and planning, and created physical things like calendars, programs, and posters.
If you create video or audio content Epidemic Sound is an excellent place to find music and sound effects. Their membership is very reasonably priced and it connects directly with your platforms so you don't have to deal with your content being flagged for copyright issues. I appreciate the quality of their music and that they strive to find out what their members are looking for and provide sounds based on that feedback. *Referral link
If you're looking to level up your videos or photos Production Crate has a great library of special effects for all of your content. I've used them for my photography, film, audio books, and social media content. It's super easy to download and they provide file types that work for a variety of apps, programs, and platforms. *Affiliate link
I first started investing using Acorns, back before they added Later (retirement), Early (for your kids), and Banking. I love using Acorns because it's an incredibly easy and simple way to invest. While many other options require a minimum investment, with Acorns you can invest just $5 per month. The may not seem like much, but every little bit helps. The app even has a hypothetical projection for each account so you can get a better idea of how it could grow. *Referral link
Moo has been one of my favorite companies for ordering marketing materials. The quality is fantastic, and especially if you're a creative or want to market to different audiences, their "Infinity Print" option is a game changer. It allows you to print business cards with any number of different backs, so you can display different art or designs, or even use different promo codes to make tracking easier. The options are infinite! (Within reason.)
